Carrot 'Purple Haze' is a main crop variety that is just as tasty as other Nantes types and is particularly sweet eaten raw in salads.

• Although 'Purple Haze' looks like a real novelty it is in fact the orange carrots that are the new-comers! The original wild carrots were purple, red, white or yellow and it was 17th century Dutch breeders who first produced the colour we know today.
• Intensely sweet flavour
• For early forcing, sow under frames or cloches in February as soil starts to warm. Make outdoor sowings March to April onwards.
